Additional Information
In the Spring of 1917 the British War Office department M.I.7 (b) 4 planned the first Le Courrier de l'Air. It's objective "to support the morale of our friends behind the German lines." This 11" x 9" single-sheet newspaper was distributed weekly initially by the R.F.C. and then by Balloon in Belgium and Northern France. In total 78 different issues were produced. The one illustrated here was disseminated by balloon and is dated 11th July 1918.
