I will be changing my MOS to 37F in the next few months or so.  I am very interested in this career field.  I've already done a little research, like reading various books and researching different websites.  If you know of anything that will better prepare me and you wouldn't mind giving me a heads-up, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.

Der Stier welcome to the PsyWar.Org forums. The website, I know, is read by a number of currently serving and former psywarriors and hopefully they will be able to offer you some advice in your choosen military career.

Hey Everyone,

I'm a retired Air Force A-10 maintainer.  I spent time in the sand box, Dhahran Saudi Arabia way back in '91 to be exact.  I spend over 157 days in the luxurious Khobar Towers.  I didn't see any of the war propaganda leaflets then and now I'm trying to collect as many as I can to frame them along with all the other memorabilia I have from that time in my life.

Let me know if you know where I can get a start on a collection.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi John and welcome to the forum. Thank you for sharing the psywarrior.com link. That's a great article. We really need some more Vietnam related information here on PsyWar.Org but Ed and Herb have put together a lot of material on psywarrior.com already.

Still we'd appreciate hearing any recollections you'd care to share with us here.

Lee

Hi Lee,
Quite a few of the stories are there but you may find the PCF-52 adventure interesting. I took a 24 hour PsyWar assignment aboard a Swift Boat...PCF-52 with a Vietnamese interpreter and speakers. The speakers were mounted just aft of the 50cal gun tub. We had our weapons an 81mm on a swivel at the stern and a 50cal mounted on top. The mission was to stop and search Vietnamese riverboats looking for Viet Cong, weapons etc. and attempt to communicate with the various villages along the river. I originally volunteered to go as we were stopping by a Navy minesweeper for some great chow and ice cream ...I hadn't had in 13 months...Navy eats well as you know. Anyway the trip got a little exciting when a village opened up on us. One thing about being on a boat that occurs to you in that circumstance...there isn't anywhere to go ...either the boat or the water and the water isn't a great choice lol At least on the ground you can dig a hole. Anyway, I have some pictures I can post if you like. PsyWar hasn't changed much. I now work as the Graphic designer for the West Palm Beach VA. I entered and won the Veterans Day poster contest this year and won. Here is a like if you want to take a look. I was invited to the ceremony at Arlington. Very moving.

Absolutely fascinated by this site and its potential, finding myself immediately drawn in to an interesting discussion before even stopping by, to say hello.
Many thanks to its creators, hello and good wishes - to everyone around the world who might choose to join in, my greatest hopes would be that people from former, or current 'enemy' cultures might attempt to take part - and I would like to encourage them to do so - even if they feel their use of English is not good.  Online auto translators can help, but in any case I am deeply interested in points of view from all around the world. Not just English speaking westerners.
At present I feel troubled by so much hostility expressed against the 'people' of Iran and North korea, and people in ANY country who are branded as potential enemies, when the freedom of those people, for self expression, or access to information may be very tightly controlled, and human rights discarded as unimportant.I congratulate US and Obama for making a small creative contact, at last, with Iran.
Have a good day, everyone.
