HM Government has recently initiated a corporate rebranding process so that Parliament’s public image adequately reflects the political landscape in the early 21st century. The Government feels that Parliament, and the House of Commons in particular, needs modernising to enable it to be more identifiable and accessible to the general public, especially in the run-up to the next General Election. The traditional Parliamentary portcullis logo was long overdue a modern makeover and it is felt it needs to more effectively mirror NuLabour’s worldview.
