When England stood alone against the Axis powers, Churchill delivered speeches that were later echoed in the speeches of leading statesmen of other countries.

When America finally recognized the danger threatening it from Germany, Roosevelt expressed in other words the same thoughts as Churchill.

When the Soviet Union learnt from Germany's attack that there can be no peace with the Third Reich, Stalin came to the same conclusion.

July 14th 1940:- "This is no war of chieftains or princes, of dynasties or national ambition - this is a war of peoples and causes…"

November 9th 1940:- "Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Norway, Holland, Belgium, France, Greece - we are striving and fighting for them all; and our victory will bring liberation to them all."

March 15th 1941:- "The world has no use for a nation that claims the right to goose-step over the bodies of other peoples and races…"

March 15th 1941:- "The American people has demanded a policy of unlimited aid for Great Britain, for China and for all countries that are temporarily occupied by the aggressors."

July 2nd 1941:- "This is no ordinary war. This is a war of all peoples who fight against enslavement by Hitler's Fascist armies."

July 2nd 1941:- "Our war for the freedom of our Fatherland is merged in the struggle of the peoples of Europe and America for independence and democratic freedom."

August 20th 1940:- "The breaking of Nazi power will bring to all the peoples of Europe, including the German and Austrian peoples, food, peace and freedom."

May 27th 1941:- "All peoples that have not been spiritually conquered - even Germans and Italians - will prove themselves powerful forces for the destruction of the Nazi system."

July 2nd 1941:- "In this war of liberation we shall have loyal allies in the peoples of Europe and America – including the German people."

"For the whole world the same thing holds good. South America is arming against German aggression. China has been fighting a totalitarian aggressor for four years. Occupied Europe is in revolutionary ferment. The German people, too, can join in - it has the choice. Churchill said on June 22nd 1941: "Every man and every State that fights against Hitler shall have our aid."

And on the other side? The jackal Italy? Italy is more burden than help. Japan? Prince Konoye said in a broadcast speech on June 30th: "Japan must rely entirely on her own strength. She has nothing else in the world to rely on."

The Third Reich has not a friend in the whole world. And on the other side stand the armed forces of freedom –

"In the near future we will give to the German worker the people's car, old age pensions, proper care for health, a healthy dwelling with an air raid shelter and, as the crowning piece of all, a just wage."

- Dr. Ley 1.5.41.

"We shall not expose the Ruhr to a single bomb of enemy airmen."

- Goering 9.8.39.

"Any struggle of the German and Russian peoples against each other would profit only a third party."

- Hitler 1.9.40.

"The Führer's famous phrase, that England is no longer an island, has now received its logical confirmation."

- Völkischer Beobachter, 28.5.40.

"There are no unconquerable islands."

- Goering to the German Air Force, 2.6.41.

"The year 1941 will bring the completion of the greatest victory of our history."

- Hitler to the Armed Forces. 1.1.41.

"The war in the West is at an end."

- From the Führer's Headquarters, 24.6.40.

"The German army is marching directly against England."

- Völkischer Beobachter, 28.6.40.

"Never again will the idea of treachery strike root in the movement."

- Hess, 14.8.34.

"By the Führer's inspired agreement to Russia the danger of a two front war has been now once and for all removed."

- Goering 9.9.39.

"I have no more territorial claims to make in Europe."

- Hitler in September 1938.

"The flight of the English Government to Canada is being carefully prepared."

- Völkischer Beobachter, 22.6.40.

"Anyone who thinks he can help England must be sure of one thing! Every ship, whether escorted or not, which comes in front of our torpedo tubes will be torpedoed."

- Hitler (referring to America.) 30th January 1941.
